Then, add in fresh, coastal cuisine, and inter-tidal chalets beckoning you from after-dinner music and laughs with your hosts at a floating fire pit. During your three-night stay, a private helicopter is your all-day magic carpet ride to your choice of guided BC wilderness adventures - a range of activities that will suit whether you are eight or eighty - but what calls your name?

Maybe you will fish rivers teeming with wild salmon as grizzly bears and eagles silently observe you; there's also white water rafting down a BC coastal river, or you can follow resident Killer Whales in the Johnstone Strait while eavesdropping on them by hydrophone. Next, say farewell for now to the Nimmo Bay family and make a mental note to return soon. Embark the Jet Ranger or A-Star helicopter that will whisk you to the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island by Tofino, home to the Wickaninnish Inn.

As you enter your Chesterman Beach Loft Suite, walk by the chef-designed kitchen and living area/gas fireplace and head straight to the picture window. With views of endless Pacific breakers and sun-bleached driftwood on the beach, it's like being outside - except with the perks of custom created furnishings and artwork, a heavenly King bed on the loft level upstairs, and room service. Now, this is rustic elegance on nature's edge.

The Inn's locally-sourced culinary program, led by an award-winning kitchen brigade, is yours to savour on this three-day stay in what some of our return guests have called paradise. Amble down all 1.8 miles or 3 kilometres of Chesterman Beach (which, with its hard-packed sand, is also great for a run), and make your way back to our Ancient Cedars Spa. Take the time to relax by the warm fire inside, or cuddle on our oceanside patio while contemplating your upcoming aromatic massage.

After this bliss, we completely understand if you decide to call it a day and retreat to your suite. But we're also happy to set you up with a classic Beach Cruiser bicycle to explore eclectic Tofino, or with recommendations of our favorite trails in the nearby Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. During your stay with us, enjoy a private tour of the Inn's art collection, much of it locally carved, painted and sculpted, with pieces available to take home. Don't forget to stop by the late Henry Nolla's carving shed, where you will consider leaving it all behind - if only for the daily privilege of walking on a bed of fragrant cedar shavings with the sound of the ocean's waves nearby.
